The first building recalled, in it’s form, the name which was dedicated to the alpinist, Dado. In later years a need to expand the refuge through a cant to house the sleeping area , the stairwell and the toilets was needed. Twenty years later, the indispensability of a kitchen, imposed a second extension creating an environment with underlying and overlying pantry, small living area and an additional toilet. The original form of the dado still emerges through the colour difference in the exterior plaster.
